Happy Holidays fellow film fans!
‘Tis the season to be jolly, and to help all of my readers get even further in to the festive spirit, I have teamed up with Universal Music Group for a classy, musical Christmas gift giveaway!
In my most recent review of romantic drama Carol, something that I failed to mention but that I most certainly felt at the time is that the fantastic musical score really elevates the atmosphere, and if you are something of a movie score connoisseur, then this is the giveaway for you.
We have two Carol soundtracks to hand out to two lucky winners, both in CD format. All you have to do to be in with a chance is leave a comment telling me your favourite Cate Blanchett or Rooney Mara film performance. I will select two winners at random on Monday 21st December, good luck!
Those who don’t win but still want to purchase the beautiful soundtrack can do so at https://Carol.lnk.to/OST.
My fav. Cate Blanchett movie is Elizabeth and Rooney Mara’s Side Effects
Favourite Cate Blanchett is probably Blue Jasmine, but for me (although she was great in Dragan Tattoo) Rooney is at the top of her game in “Carol”. Have a happy Christmas Amy – thanks for all of your great blogs throughout the year, which I read without fail.
Hi there! Congratulations, I drew lots from all of the entries and you are one of the winners of a Carol soundtrack! Email me your name and address at ohthatfilmblog@gmail.com and I will send out your prize in the next couple of days. 🙂
I have not seen Carol yet. So my favorite Cate Blanchett film performance is in Notes on a Scandal and Rooney Mara’s in Side Effects. Thank You for the giveaway!
Cate Blanchett’s performance as Queen Elizabeth I cannot be forgotten. She was also stellar in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button; I truely believe that had anyone else been casted in the role, the premise would have been rejected by most audiences.
VERY sad I didn’t make it to the Chicago Film Festival this year to see it. I adore The Price of Salt. I have seen the trailers and heard so many great things about Carol, so I know I’m going to adore the film. Cate is amazing and this film may very well erase the disappointment that was Notes on a Scandal…she and Dame Judi Dench gave marvelous performances, but the film’s misogyny and repressed lesbian lunatic trope just made me despondent.
Tough question! Mara was great in The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo but I think her performance in Carol was absolutely stellar, so that’s probably my favourite. For Blanchett I think it has to be Jude in I’m Not There.
Great blog, by the way ^_^
